Abstract

1338032 Mounting vehicle cabs SAABSCANIA AB 17 Nov 1971 [23 Nov 1970] 53447/71 Heading B7D A driving cab is supported on a side beam 1 of a vehicle frame by a mounting assembly comprising a generally horizontal arm 11 pivotally mounted on the beam 1 to extend transversely thereof, a pair of generally vertical links 13 pivotally connected to the arm 11 and an upper mounting element 16 to which the cab is detachably connected by coupling means 4, an hydraulic damper 17 connected between the arm 11 and beam 1, and a rubber block 21 interposed between the arm 11 and the mounting element 16 to reduce the influence of torsional deflection of the frame on the driving cab. A rubber pad 22 on the arm 11 bears on the top flange of the beam 1. The coupling means 4 is attached to a beam 2 forming part of the cab and includes a coupling hook 4 operable by means of a lever 6 to engage a stirrup on the mounting element 16. The axis of the damper 17 is arranged to pass through the torsional axis of the side beam 1.
