Abstract

1337824 Electromedical device DEUTSCHE NEMECTRON GmbH 8 June 1971 19516/71 Heading A5R An electromedical device for interference current therapy comprises at least two mutually independent electrical circuits 2, 3 each including a pair of electrodes 23, 24 and 33, 34, means for producing a high frequency current in each circuit which per se has no stimulating effect upon living material and which differs from the current in the other circuit by a low frequency value, and current strength regulating means 25, 35 included in the circuits which allows a vector of maximum current interference to be moved over a patient without movement of the electrodes. The two circuits shown consist of oscillators 21, 31 supplying a frequency of about 4 KH 2 , amplifiers 22, 23, current regulating members 25, 35, and electrodes 23, 24, 33, 34. The current interference, which may vary from 0-100%, is represented by a vector field 4, 8, 9 which indicates the percentage amount and direction of the interference. Consequently, the shape of the interference field depends on the electrode arrangement. Regions 6, 7 may be treated with 100% interference by altering the current strength of a circuit via a regulating member 25, 35 in directions 26, 36 or 27, 37, so that an alteration of +2X in one circuit and -X in the other circuit is obtained. This causes the vector 4, which corresponds to the maximum interference, to move into positions 8, 9 and by rhythmically changing the current strengths in the circuits 2, 3, the entire treatment surface may be covered by regions of 100% current interference.
