1337663 Dough cutting and moulding MASCHINENFABRIK BRIEM - HENGLER & CRONEMEYER KG 4 Aug 1971 36559/71 Heading B5A [Also in Division B4] In an apparatus for cutting out dough shapes, a ribbon of dough 4 passes through two pairs of rollers 7, 22, each pair comprising a cutting roller and a counter pressure roller, the first pair 7 cutting the inner cut-outs and the second pair 22 cutting the outer shape, and the ribbon of dough is carried, e.g. by conveyer 2a and 2b or 3a, round a portion of the circumference of the first cutting roller 7a and on to the second pair of rollers 22 after the removal of the cut-outs. The dough shapes may be removed by a further conveyer 27, the remaining skeleton of the dough ribbon being carried away on conveyer 26. In one embodiment, Fig. 2, the cut-outs are separated from the dough ribbon by blowers 5a and/or 5b which force them through the cavities in cutters 8 into roller 7a. The cavities 8a, 8b and 8c of the cutters diverge inwardly, see Fig. 6, to prevent jamming of the cut-outs, and the cutters have portions 8d for embossing the dough shapes. The cut-outs are removed from inside roller 7a by a curved conveyer belt 6a. A baffle 14 which extends through and beyond the sides of conveyer 6a prevents the cut-outs reaching the inner wall of roller 7a. A single conveyer belt 1 (Fig. 1, not shown) may replace the two parts 2a and 2b, a portion of the belt being diverted around blower 5b. In another embodiment, Fig. 4, a conveyer belt 3a is wetted by a roller 5d<SP>11</SP> so that the cut-outs 4a adhere to it and tend to follow it where it is diverted by rollers 13, 17, 18, 19. A stripper plate 21 removes the cut-outs which drop on to a curved transverse conveyer 6b. The cutters 8 in this case have outwardly diverging cavities (Fig. 7, not shown) so that the cut-outs remain on the conveyer. In a similar embodiment (Fig. 3, not shown) the conveyer belt (3) is not wetted and the cut-outs are separated by a blower (5c) above the dough ribbon which blows the cut-outs down on to conveyer 6b.
