Abstract

1336827 Drum head A C CRISCUOLO 26 May 1972 25008/72 Heading G5J A diaphragm 11 for a drum and a mounting ring 12 of greater thickness are moulded in a single operation from synthetic resin. The diaphragm 11 is moulded with a rough surface if the drum is to be played with a brush. To give added strength, the ring 12 may be incorporated during moulding inside an aluminium channel 14, as shown, an aluminium ring (23, Fig. 3, not shown) may be incorporated inside the resin ring (22), or a thin woven fabric (Fig. 4, not shown), preferably of synthetic thermoplastic, may be incorporated in both the ring (32) and the diaphragm (31). The simplest embodiment (Fig. 1, not shown) comprises only the resin moulding. Specific materials for the moulding and the fabric are listed.
