Abstract
1336775 Reactor pressure vessels SIEMENS AG 6 Dec 1971 [5 Dec 1970] 56619/71 Heading G6C A nuclear reactor installation having a reactor pressure vessel 1 with a lower portion 3 of cylindrical form, includes a safety enclosure comprising a protective container 14 accommodating the portion 3, the adjacent part 15 of the container comprising two wall layers 18, 19 the latter of which surrounds the former. The outer layer 19 can be of wound strip metal, or may comprise a support ring. The inner layer 18 is of the same thickness as a lower bowl part 17. An outer thermal lining 35 and biological shield 6 are included. Excess pressure exceeding 6 atmospheres above the external pressure can be vented from the region inside the shield 6 by passing along an annular flow passage 23 surrounding coolant ducting 24, to displace insulant 36 and a bellows 37.
