Abstract

133,652. Smith, P. H. July 2, 1919. Pistons.-Centre-pieces or cores for pistons such as described in Specification 22486/14 are stepped and fitted with split expansion rings 4, 5, which, when the core is in place, spring into corresponding grooves in the piston and retain it. Holes in the core and rings accommodate pins which hold the rings in the contracted position while the core is being put in place.
