Abstract

1336514 Yarn processing fluid jet FIBER INDUSTRIES Inc 9 June 1972 [11 June 1971] 27003/72 Headings D1F and D1W A yarn processing jet of trilaminar construction comprises a discontinuous inner, lamina between two outer laminae and comprises a yarn duct 4 having at least one fluid entry port 5 thereto, the duct 4 having two sides formed by the discontinuous inner lamina 2, 3 and two sides formed by the outer laminae. The jet includes a plate member 1 having secured thereto two members 2, 3 and a further top plate member 10 secured by set screws 11. The yarn duct 4 which is substantially rectangular in cross-section is formed between the members 1, 2, 3 and 10. It is preferred that two fluid entry ports 5, 6 are disposed on opposite sides of the duct 4 and supplied from a pipe 9 via channels 7 and 8 respectively. The entry ports 5, 6 may be of circular or rectangular cross-section. The jet may be used to forward brake, intermingle or bulk multifilament yarn or splice yarn ends and the entry ports 5, 6 may be angled relative to the duct 4 and the duct 4 be of a configuration suitable to the proposed use. The inner lamina formed of the members 2, 3 is recessed from the edges of the lamina 1 and 10. To thread the yarn in the duct 4 the outer lamina 10 is removed.
