Abstract

1335448 Chairs GERRY DESIGNS INC 19 April 1971 [2 March 1970] 23017/71 Heading A4J A readily disassembled and portable chair usable in a plurality of different positions comprises a pair of side-wall members 10, shaped so as to be stable in different positions and held in spaced relation by at least three shouldered dowels 15 releasably secured in holes in the members 10, and a flexible seat member 13 supported by the dowels to provide a seat in any of the positions of the chair. One or more of the edges of the members 10 may be curved to give a rocking action; in a chair of such form one additional dowel similar to the others but clear of the seat member may be provided to serve as a hand-hold for a child, who may stand on the seat instead of sitting. The seat member may, as shown, be in the form of an endless loop, which may surround all the dowels freely or may be secured to one of them; alternatively, Fig.13 (not shown), it may be of T form with loops at each of its three ends to receive the dowels. The members 10 may have a number of holes to provide for alternative positions of the dowels.
