1335364 Citric and isocitric acids KYOWA HAKKO KOGYO CO Ltd 1 Oct 1970 [9 Oct 1969] 9288/73 Divided out of 1332180 Heading C2C Citric and isocitric acids are prepared by a fermentation under aerobic conditions which comprises culturing a hydrocarbon-assimilating yeast in an aqueous medium containing at least one hydrocarbon as the main carbon source, in the presence of an alkali metal ferrocyanide. Yeasts belonging to the genus Candida, Torulopsis, Endomyces, Pichia, Hansenula, Mycoderma, or Endomycopsis may be used and examples describe the use of Candida lipolytica, ATCC 8661, and Candida zeylonoides, ATCC 15585, and sodium or potassium ferrocyanides are used as additives in conventional media with n paraffin.
