Abstract

1335285 Catalyst regeneration ASAHI KASEI KOGYO KK 6 Sept 1971 [7 Sept 1970 28 Oct 1970 22 April 1971] 41458/71 Heading B1E A deactivated hydrocarbon conversion catalyst containing platinum and lead is reactivated by passing over the catalyst a gas containing 0.5 to 5% volume of oxygen for 2 to 5 hours at 300-450‹C. This is suitably followed passing a gas containing more than 5% oxygen over the catalyst for 1 to 3 hours at 450 to 550‹C. The oxygen treatment may be preceded or followed by a treatment with a halogen or halogen-compound containing gas. The catalyst may comprise a third component, these specified being Li, Na, K, Rb, Cs Cu, Ag, Au, Be, Mg, Ca, Sr. Ba, Zn, Cd, Hg, Y, B, Tl, Ti, Zr, Ge, Sn, V, Ta, P, Sb, Bi, Cr, Mo, W, Mn, Re, Fe, Co, Ni, Ru, Rh, Pd, Os, Ir, Th or U. In the Examples the catalysts treated comprise Pt, Pd alone or Pt, Pd and U, K or Cd on a gamma-alumina carrier.
