Abstract

1335124 Shedding motion for circular looms GUMMIKOMBINAT THURINGEN VEB 14 April 1971 9416/71 Headings D1E and D1K A shedding motion for producing twill weaves on a circular loom comprises two grooved rotating cam plates 1, 2 reciprocating push rods 5, 6 having racks 25, 26 on their free ends acting through pinions and an intermediate rod 40 on racks 35, 43 and 44 on the lower ends of rods 36, 37 41 which have healds shafts 46, 47 and 48 at their top ends, such that each heald shaft is raised into the upper shed in turn while the lower two are in the lower shed. The lower cam plate 2 has teeth 20 around its periphery driving a pinion 22 fixed to a shaft 21 which acts on a shuttle drive. Groups of heald shafts such as 46, 47, 48 are spaced around the loom to provide a travelling wave shed. The loom may be used in the weaving of hose pipes with a twill weave.
