Abstract

1334490 Filtration of liquids GLASURITWERKE M WINKELMANN GmbH 6 April 1972 [16 April 1971] 15926/72 Heading B1D Liquid to be filtered is introduced through aperture 9 into the bottom section 1 of a housing accommodating three cylindrical filter cartridges 13 each of which is sealed at the top by a cap 17 positioned in a recess 19 in a plate 20 attached to the central spindle 6 by means of which, together with nut 8, the top section 3, casing section 2 and bottom section 1 of the housing are secured together. The liquid passes from the exterior to the interior of the filter cartridges; and the filtered liquid flows out of the bottom section of the housing through apertures 10. Plate 20 is freely mounted on spindle 6 and has a pin 21 which projects radially inwardly to engage in a groove 22 in spindle 6, the diameter of the hole 23 in plate 20 and the diameter of annular flange 24 being such that pivotal movement of the plate is possible to compensate for differences in length of the filter cartridges 13. The fixing of plate 20 on spindle 6 is carried out by means of nut 28 and washer 27. Each cap 17 has a projecting pin 25 which passes through a hole 26 in plate 20. Each filter cartridge is firmly gripped between sealing ribs 16 on the respective cap 17 and sealing ribs on the respective sealing union 12. A locating rod 15, whose cross-section is that of a threepointed star, passes through each filter cartridge. Radial guide plates 29 and 30 are provided in the lower section of the housing.
