Abstract

1334360 Thermal insulation DELANEY GALLAY Ltd 31 Dec 1970 [31 Dec 1969] 63546/69 Headings F2G and F2X Thermal insulation for a pipe junction comprises the separate members 10, 12 which mate together to hold the stub 26 when welded in position. Each half, 10, 12 is constructed of members 16, 18 and 20, 22 resistance welded at 24 to enclose the insulating material 14. The corrugated cover 32 is welded over the air vent holes 30 to provide a breather hole. Silicon fibre felt is employed as the material 14. The members 16, 18 and 20, 22 are of fluid-formed metal, i.e. metal formed in or over a die by the action of fluid pressure on a resiliently flexible diaphragm which engages the blank.
