1333628 Conveyers H T & M CONSTRUCTION CO Ltd 28 April 1972 [10 March 1971] 6529/71 Heading B8A Articles on a belt conveyer 10 are discharged on to a work receiving platform 13 by a part 16 of a two-part arm 16, 17 which is pivotally mounted in a substantially vertical sleeve 27 which is itself pivotally mounted on a horizontal pin 30. An extension 33 of the arm assembly is engageable by an abutment 38 of a horizontally movable resetting rod 37. A pair of rollers 56 assist movement of an article 99 from the conveyer on to the platform 13. In Fig. 2, the article, having engaged the arm 16, is deflected until it engages a part 25 of the arm 17 which, due to the momentum of the article, is moved to position 17a with portion 24 beneath the article. The arm 16 is thus clear of the conveyer and, due to the inclination of the platform 13, the arm 17 and the extension 33, the latter is clear of the re-setting means 37, 38. Upon removal of the article, e.g. a box 60, counterweight means 34, 35 will cause the sleeve extension assembly 27, 33 to be restored to the full-line position of Fig. 3 and the arms 16, 17 be made ready for resetting. By moving the rod 37 in the direction 18 the arms 16, 17 are returned to their original positions, Fig. 2, for engagement with another article. The rod 37 is actuated by a motor-driven crank, Figs. 5-7 (not shown), controlled from a console by an operator who initiates the reset after a signal has been operated by the movement of the assembly 27, 33. There may be a series of workreceiving stations along each side of the conveyer, each series having a common rod 37. The conveyer may be of the powered roller type.
