Abstract

1333056 Thermal storage inserts THERMOBAUELEMENT AG 2 Nov 1970 [4 Nov 1969] 51942/70 Heading F4U A thermal storage insert for electric storage heaters of the kind which store thermal energy and which may be charged during low-rate hours by electrical resistance heating elements, comprises at least three similar sheet metal panels 20<SP>1</SP> to 20<SP>111</SP>, each having a number of spaced, parallel bulges 1 and 1<SP>11</SP> produced by a deep drawing process. Two of the panels 20<SP>1</SP>, 20<SP>11</SP> are arranged facing each other, with their bulges 1 at corresponding positions to provide individual container units 6 for housing the storage mass material. The other panel 20<SP>111</SP> of each storage element is arranged with its bulges 1<SP>11</SP> at corresponding positions and backing against the bulges of one of the other two panels so as to provide a series of spaced air channels 7<SP>1</SP> The bulges 1 and 1<SP>11</SP> have corrugations 5, in their side walls. The storage elements 20 are symmetrically arranged around a heating element 7.
