1332970 Chance result forecasting cards G L BEANEY 23 March 1972 [23 March 1971] 7659/71 Heading A6H Chance result forecasting cards each have one of three sets of symbols marked upon them, the sets of symbols being (1) the integers 1, 2, 3, 4 &c., (2) the Symbols 1, 2 and X and (3) the letters of the alphabet. A pack may contain 30 to 60 cards. As exemplified, a pack contains 52 of the cards numbered with the integers 1 to 52 and with the letters A to Z each occuring twice in the pack. Two further cards are included in the pack, numbered with the integers 53 and 54 and insribed with the words "Favourite" and "Opponent" respectively. Each of the cards 1 to 54 bears additionally one of the symbols 1, 2 or X. The pack may be employed to make football pool forecasts for up to 54 matches or to place winners for a race having up to 54 entrants. The "Favourite" and "Opponent" cards can be employed to forecast the result of a race or match having only two opponents and the alphabetical markings may be used to select an order of precedence for the type of competition where picture or articles identified by letters are to be placed in a particular order to win the competition.
