1332806 Weighing apparatus H IWAKO 2 Nov 1970 [7 Nov 1969] 52023/70 Heading G1W An automatic weighing machine for particulate material comprises a balance B1 having first and second balance arms the first of which carries a dispensing device A which is driven to dispense the material by a driving means E at a given rate. Feeding means C is operated periodically to discharge the material into the device A. A control circuit arrangement is provided for operating the machine and initially causes a chain weight 22 to apply a load to the second balance arm to a predetermined amount and the feeding means C charges the dispensing device until the arms balance and then discontinues feeding. The chain weight is then withdrawn so that it has no effect and the driving means E operates to cause the device A to dispense the material. The control circuit includes a setting counter and a timing counter the pulses of which are compared to give an indication of the quantity of the material dispensed in relation to a pre-set time. Should a variation occur from that desired the driving means, which comprises a sliplessly adjustable motor, is automatically adjusted to ensure that the desired delivery is achieved. The dispensing device A comprises upper and lower cylinders 1, 3 there being openings 4 communicating between them and a blade 11 for agitating the material to cause it to drop into the lower cylinder 3. A second agitator 12 causes the material to feed into a passage 14 from whence it is delivered into a discharge cylinder 7. The machine may be used for batch or continuous weighing.
