Abstract
1332474 Valves TECHNOMATIC AG 30 Sept 1970 [13 July 1970] 46581/70 Heading F2V A 5-way slide valve is guided within the body by roller bearings 62, 64 which are positioned on the side of the slide valve member 40 remote from the inlet 20. A pressure plate 66 is loaded against the roller bearings by a piston 68 which is subject to the combined force of a spring 70 and inlet fluid pressure derived from a line 52. Inlet fluid pressure also acts permanently on a driving piston 44 of the slide valve member. When the pilot valve 54 is in the lower position (Fig. 1) the slide valve member is moved to the left. When the pilot valve is energized to the upper position the inlet fluid pressure acts on a larger diameter piston 46 to shift the slide valve member to the right. In alternative embodiments (Figs. 2, 3, 5, not shown) the slide valve member is formed of two parts biased away from each other by fluid pressure and spring force. In another embodiment (Fig. 4, not shown), the upper part of the slide valve member is divided into three segments (100), (102), (104) deriving fluid pressure from ports (26), (20), (28) respectively. The roller bearings may be ball-bearings or needle rollers.
