Abstract
1332292 Pulse frequency changing KENT INSTRUMENTS Ltd 7 Oct 1970 [10 July 1969] 34784/69 Heading H3P The frequency of an input pulse signal on line 6, 20 is increased by adding to it in an OR gate 16, pulses derived from a bi-stable 2 having a frequency equal to the lesser of the signal and pulse train frequencies. A multivibrator 10 produces a pulse train at a frequency set by a variable resistor 12, and the bi-stable 2 is set by pulses from the train and reset by the input signal pulses at 6. The bi-stable output therefore has a frequency equal to the lesser of its two input frequencies, and this output is delayed by a monostable 14 and applied to the OR gate 16 together with the input signal at 20, to produce at 22 an addition of the two frequencies. The arrangement is used to linearize the output (Fig. 3, not shown) of an electric pulse flowmeter, adjustment of the multivibrator 10 frequency at 12 giving different characteristic curves (Fig. 2, not shown).
