Abstract
1331855 Boots &c LAMBERT HOWARTH & SONS Ltd 24 May 1972 [27 May 1971] 17673/71 Heading A3B A shoe, e.g. a slipper is made from a U-shaped golosh a (which may comprise two parts toe-seamed at a') and a second panel b of which the generally U-shaped part serves as a lining and the tab b<SP>2</SP> serves as a vamp panel of the upper. The method of making the shoe comprises placing the ports as in Fig. 2 (with the outside surface of golosh a facing downwardly) and seaming together the edge of tab b<SP>2</SP> and the upper edge of golosh a. Portion b' of panel b is now pulled upwardly and is bent back on itself so that it overlies the golosh a while the "arms" of panel b are also bent back and folded over on top of the "arms" of golosh a. The golosh a and panel b are now adhesively bonded together. The back seam of golosh a and panel b are now joined by stitching c' with a backstrap c over the inside and outside of the upper which is finally attached to a sole unit. The lining of the finished shoe has no seams except at the back and all the seams at the front part of the upper are turned-in.
