Abstract

1330929 Slide holder E BURSTEIN 20 July 1971 33938/71 Heading B4W A slide holder comprises a support 2 shaped to receive a slider and engage the body thereof and a pair of relatively movable jaws 6 adapted to engage a finger grip 4 of the slider, the pair of jaws and the support being relatively movable in a direction transverse to the support. Jaws 6 are pivotally connected levers 7 which are also pivotally connected to levers 10. These levers cross and pivot 13 is fixed to body 1. A spring 14 biases the jaws to a closed position. Closing of handles 11 causes the jaws to open and move upwardly. A slide sits on support 2 with finger grip 4 projecting toward the jaws. As the handles open the jaws clamp the finger grip and pull the slide towards support 2 causing release of any automatic locking device. Body 1 is provided with an anvil 15 for closing the free ends of a bottom stopper. In a modification one of the pivots 12 is fixed to the body 31 and a single lever 10 is required to operate the jaws. This single lever would be used where the holder is used in conjunction with a bottom stopper inserting machine wherein the anvil is mounted on an axially slidable bar.
