Abstract

1330694 Releasable fastenings WILH FRANK GmbH 14 Dec 1970 [16 Dec 1969 14 Feb 1970] 59278/70 Heading E2A A fitting for casement windows and doors comprises at least one push rod 12 provided alternately and at regular spaced intervals with slots 13 and holes 11, a cover rail 17 having slots 18 at regular spaced intervals, the spaces between the slots of the cover rail corresponding to the spaces between the slots in the push rod, or to an integral multiple thereof, and retaining means, such as a gear mechanism 3 or locking bolt 4, for retaining the cover rail adjacent and parallel to the push rod while allowing axial relative movement between the cover rail and push rod. As shown, a push member 5 associated with a corner fitting 2, includes a rack 7 which engages with a rack 15 on the push rod 12 having groups of holes in which are engaged pins 16 of the gear mechanism 3: the other end 8 of the member 5 is provided with rack teeth 9 which engage in holes 10 of the push rod 12. The cover rail may be covered by an adhesive foil or paper and secured by screw 19 passing through the slots 13 in the push rods.
