Projectiles; fuses. - Relates to aerial bombs comprising an explosive shell adapted to be expelled upwards from a casing when the bomb strikes the ground and then to burst at a given height above ground. According to the invention, the bomb claimed in Specification 133,062 is made to burst at the desired height above ground by means of a flexible cord 54 which is attached at one end to the base block 6 and at the other end to a percussion - cap carrier 42 on the explosive shell 2. When the shell 2 is expelled upwards from the casing 1, the cord becomes taut and pulls the percussion cap 48 against a pin 40, firing the shell through a charge of fulminate of mercury 38.
