Abstract

1328883 Spreading implement H K PRICHARD 20 May 1971 [13 June 1970] 28741/70 Heading A1D [Also in Division F2] A dispensing and spreading implement intended for horticultural fertilisers, seeds and similar particulates, has a main body 13 supported on wheels 41, a container 11 and an oscillatably movable outlet spout 20 leading from the the container. The spout is oscillated by a projection 24 which follows a sinuous slot provided in a transmission member 50 rotatable with the support wheels 41 preferably by means of axle 40. A vertical gate 30 for control of material flow from the container is raised and lowered by a rotatable knob 34 having an eccentric pin engaging a horizontal slot 32 in the gate. The spout outlet end 25 is closed by a plug 27 not rotatably guided by guides 28. A constricting plate 27b with a central aperture directs the material to a shield 27a which directs it out of oppositely disposed apertures 29 in the side walls of the spout. Axle 40 may be driven only in one direction by wheels 41 a suitable freewheel device (see Division F2) being provided. (For Figures see next page)
