Abstract

1328818 Bearings NADELLA and A PITNER 2 Nov 1970 [16 Feb 1970] 51961/70 Heading F2A A radial needle bearing comprises an outer race 2 with a cylindrical portion and a radial end portion connected by a rounded junction, a cage 3, and a washer 8 disposed radially within the edge of the cage and having a diameter greater than that of the inner race surface 10. The washer axially positions the race 2 and shaft 4. The shaft may be provided with an inner race, and may extend through the washer and an aperture in the end portion 7 of the outer race. Alternatively the washer may have an axially extending portion received in a recess in the end of the shaft, or the end opening of an inner race.
