Abstract

1328663 Valves PARKER-HANNIFIN CORP 16 Dec 1970 [28 Jan 1970] 59726/70 Heading F2V A valve assembly having a spool 8 to connect the bucket motor 10 of a front end loader to supply and exhaust and a spool 9 to control similar connections for a bucket motor 14 has a check valve 32 providing a connection between the two spools so that when the spool 8 is in a neutral position and the spool 9 in its uppermost position fluid may flow from the boom motor into the bucket motor to keep the bucket level as the boom is being raised. The exhaust from the boom motor passes through a conduit 16, spaces 27, 31, 26, and a conduit 12 to the bucket motor which has its opposite end connected to exhaust through a conduit 11, ports 41 and a valve 40 mounted in the spool and held open by pressure within the space 26 acting through a passage 45 on a plunger 46. If the bucket tends to move faster than the flow of oil from the boom motor, pressure falls in the space 26 and the valve 40 is closed by a spring. With the spools 8 and 9 in the neutral positions shown, fluid from the supply 5 flows through spaces 21 into return passages 28, 23 while movement of either spool from its neutral position provides supply and exhaust connections for the corresponding motor. Check valves 29 prevent reversible flow from one motor to the other, and in the event of loss of pump pressure, prevent load dropping, while relief valves 30 and 48 limit the pressure in the system and in the space 26 if the motor 10 reaches the end of its stroke before the motor 14.
