Abstract
1328635 Speed governors C A V Ltd 14 Dec 1970 [1 Jan 1970] 108/70 Heading G3B A governor mechanism having a cage 19 locating weights 16 is characterised in that the cage 19 comprises a cup-shaped member having secured therein an annular insert 30 having a plurality of inwardly extending projections (32), Fig.4 (not shown) each of which defines a pair of axially extending surfaces on its opposite sides, the adjacent surfaces of adjacent projections locating the weights 16. The insert 30 is formed of a synthetic resin material and is held in the cage 19 by outwardly extending projections within apertures 24. The cup is of hexagonal form and is driven by a flange 25 on the shaft 11 and cushioned by inserts (28), Fig. 2 (not shown). As the shaft 11 rotates the toes 18 of the weights axially moving the sleeve 10 against a spring 7, the force of which can be adjusted via a roller 6 by an operator.
