1328367 Taximeters YAZAKI CORP 26 Nov 1970 [5 Dec 1969] 56210/70 Heading G4T [Also in Division G1] Apparatus used with a taximeter for recording details of the operation of a taxicab, comprises transmitter means operable to transmit electrical signals in response to the operation and manual actuation of the taximeter, and recording means which receives and converts the signals to records on a continuous recording medium, the medium being machine readable for use in computation of data of the operation of the taxicab. In the embodiment described switches 14, 22, 26 and 32 are located in the taximeter and are operable to selectively close circuits connecting the transmitter means and recording means (Figs. 1 and 2, not shown). Switch 14 is closed by cam 13 on manual actuation of an external lever each time the cab is hired. Reed switches 22, 26 and 32 are operated by associated magnets 21, 25 and 33 as the movement of of the cab rotates axle 15, to transmit signals indicating respectively the total distance covered, the distance covered with passengers and the number of additional fare units over a basic fare paid by passengers. This information may be recorded on punched or magnetic tape (Figs. 4 and 5, not shown) and the tape may be used with a calculator for computation of total fare, proceeds per unit distance, working ratio &c.
