Abstract

1328110 Specula RANCRAY Ltd 21 April 1971 [21 April 1970] 19124/70 Heading A5R A speculum comprises a central hollow base 1, with two arms 5 of different length and width and a base 7 having two arms 10, at an angle which is less than the angle between arms 5, with the two bases being pivoted together so that arms 10 are movable in the arc between arms 5, to form selectively two cavity dilating means. The second base 7 has side lugs 8, with outwardly extending pivot pins 9, which engage in pivot holes (4) Figure 2 (not shown) of base 1. Each arm 5 has the same dimensions as the corresponding arm 10 and forms with it one of the cavity dilating means, the other set then comprising the handles. The arms 5 and 10 are normally outwardly convex and inwardly concave.
