Abstract

1327929 Dyeing hair A N SPANEL 28 July 1971 [29 July 1970] 35565/71 Heading D1B [Also in Division C5] The invention comprises a dry-colour applicator for pressure colouring hair comprising a block of wax of substantial length and width having colouring material in intimate mixture therewith, the block having at least one edge portion extending from one side to an opposite side of the block to present at least one unobstructed substantially continuous surface for colour-stroking hair without a combing action, and an open ended enclosure within which the block is positioned for insulating the block from the seat of the hand and preventing transfer of colour to the hand during use. The wax block may contain triple pressed stearic acid paraffine, beeswax, carnauba wax, pigment, antifungal and antibacterial substances. Inorganic pigments are used e.g. carbon block, titanium dioxide, yellow ochre and burnt sienna. Preferred shapes of blocks are shown e.g. in Figs. (Figs. 1, 4, 9 and 10).
