Abstract

1326840 Wood-wool boards; laminates HERMANN BERSTORFF MASCHINENBAU GmbH 30 Sept 1971 [14 Oct 1970 27 March 1971] 45507/71 Headings B5A and B5N [Also in Division C3] Wood-wool boards are produced by distributing wood-wool impregnated with a heat curable adhesive on to an endless band 1 which passes round a heated drum 8 and presses the wood-wool against the drum, and by further pressing the belt against the drum at a position downstream of the line of contact 10 of the belt and drum with at least one adjustable pressure roller 12. In the embodiment shown impregnated woodwool is fed by a scatter trolley 9 on to an endless steel band 1 tensioned by adjustable roller 6. The boards are faced with a foil 16 introduced at the line of contact 10 and when pressed are fed to cutting machinery. The drum 7 is steam heated and infra-red heaters 11, 13 and 14 supply further heat. Another embodiment, not shown, has a single larger pressure roller which also serves as a guide roller, replacing roller 7.
