Abstract
1326493 Fluid-pressure signal sensor AUTOMATIC SWITCH CO 19 April 1971 [27 March 1970] 25043/71 Heading H4D A fluid pressure signal is sensed by directing it through a whistle to generate ultrasonic waves which are detected by a piezoelectric crystal. In the embodiment shown the whistle is a fluidic device 12 with resonator chambers 15, 16 and a lateral Venturi section 14, 45 through which the pressure signal is directed. Crystal 31, on a brass backing disc 30 in divergent chamber 22, is resonant at the generated ultrasonic frequency (e.g. >18 kHz, preferably about 50 kHz) and its output at terminals 34, 35 is amplified and rectified by circuit 11.
