Abstract
1326277 Deflecting jets of rocket propulsion motors MESSERSCHMITT - BOLKOWBLOHM GmbH 23 Nov 1970 [5 Dec 1969] 55652/70 Heading B7G A rocket motor 2 is mounted on a missile 1 so that it may be swivelled for thrust vectoring by a structure comprising a frame 14 attached to the missile and formed with an annular member 17 (shown in cross-section), and a frame 15 attached to the rocket motor and, by rods 19 and servomotor 18, to the missile body, the frame 15 having an annular flexible diaphragm secured to the free edges of member 17 the cavity thus formed being optionally filled with liquid 16. Fuel and oxidant for the rocket motor is sup- plied through flexible pipes 10, 11. Springs in- stead of liquid may be inserted in the annular cavity between the member 17 and the diaphragm. For thrust vectoring, servomotors 18 are operated to rock frame 15 about frame 14 through the medium of the flexible diaphragm.
