1325875 Photo-sensitive compositions; gravure printing plates B K T DISPLAYS Ltd 11 Aug 1970 [13 Aug 1969] 9563/73 Divided out of 1325874 Heading G2C Photo-sensitive compositions for the preparation of gravure printing plate comprise (i) a resin material which is hardenable on exposure to electromagnetic radiation, and (ii) a photographic material in which, as a result of exposure to electromagnetic radiation insufficient to cause appreciable hardening of the resin, an image can be produced which is resistant to the transmission of hardening radiation. The plate is formed by the process of parent Specification 1325874. Preferably (ii) is a silver halide material and (ii) is a polyamide, polyurethane, polyvinyl or cellulose cinnamate or furylacrylate, a polyester, polyacrylate, polymethacrylate or cellulose derivative preferably mixed with a cross-linking agent containing at least two double bonds, a photoinitiator (e.g. benzoin methyl ether), a thermal polymerization inhibitor (e.g. hydroquinone) and/ or a plasticiser.
