Abstract

1325470 Telegraphy; loss of signal detection KOMBINAT VEB MESSGERATEWERK ZWONITZ GERATEWERK KARL-MARXSTADT 26 Nov 1970 56297/70 Heading H4P A loss of incoming signal fault, on detection is arranged to temporarily switch off a receiver and provide a fault indication, then subsequently reconnect the receiver on removal of the fault. Terminals a, b, connected to telegraph lines, are shunted by a differentiating element C1, W1 producing pulses of alternating polarity in synchronism with received telegraph signal changes, each of which switch over the state of a transistor multivibrator 2 having an integrating element 3 at its output. Single current operation.-If a fault occurs there will be a negative pulse in differentiating element 1 and voltage across element 3 rises and if no further switching occurs within 130 ms. the Zener diodes D3, D4 conduct, providing a voltage on line Ust, switching off the receiver (7) also causing conduction of a transistor T3 thus energizing fault lamp La. On resumption of normal transmission the integrating element 3 becomes discharged, thus Zener diodes D3, D4 cease conduction hence the receiver is reconnected and lamp La is extinguished. Double current operation.-A polarized receiver is provided in which a fault during a negative, marking, current switches off receiver 7; owing to its polarized operation a fault during positive, spacing, current would have the same effect.
