1325464 1,3 - Dialkenyl - uracils ROBUGEN GmbH PHARMAZEUTISCHE FABRIK ESSLINGEN AN 25 Sept 1970 [27 Sept 1969] 45887/70 Heading C2C Novel compounds of the Formula (I) wherein R 1 and R 2 are the same or different straight or branched C 2-5 alkenyl groups, R 3 is a straight or branched C 1-4 alkyl group, an optionally substituted aryl or aralkyl group or a cycloalkyl, halogen, nitro or amino group, and X is H or halogen, may be obtained by alkenylating compounds of Formula (I) in which R 1 and/or R 2 are hydrogen atoms, the groups otherwise being as for (I) above. Alkenylation may be effected by means of an alkenyl halide in the presence of an acid binding agent. Pharmaceutical compositions having virostatic, antipyretic and sedative properties comprise a compound of Formula I above together with a pharmaceutical carrier or excipient in forms suitable for oral, topical, rectal, intravaginal or parenteral administration.
