In a forced convection oven, particularly for heating aircraft meals, the door is hinged at one side of the front opening, and is locked by bars 13 at the other side engaging openings 14 in the door frame 15. Rollers 16 at the inner ends of the longitudinally sliding bars engages recesses 17A in plates 17 secured to a hub 18. The shaft 19 of hub 18 carries an elongated handle 20, one end of which is located in a gutter 21, concentric with the shaft 19, so that the movement of the handle 20 is limited by the length of the gutter. The recesses 17A are so shaped that movement of handle 20 from the horizontal position shown withdraws the bars 13 from the recesses 14 to unlatch the door.
