1323427 Aromatic diamino-diacetamido compounds WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC CORP 15 May 1970 [27 May 1969] 48686/72 Divided out of 1323426 Heading C2C The invention comprises compounds of the general formula where R is a tetravalent radical containing benzenoid unsaturation and Z is an alkyl radical having up to 5 carbon atoms and wherein each of the amino groups and each of the ZCONH- groups is directly attached to a benzene ring and are arranged in pairs, each pair comprising an amino group and ortho to it a ZCONH-group while the amino groups are not ortho to each other. They may be prepared from the correponding diamino-dinitro compound (where the ZCONH-groups are replaced by amino groups and the amino groups are replaced by nitro groups) by acetylation of the amino groups to ZCONH-groups followed by reduction of the nitro groups to amino groups.
