Abstract

1323319 Article dispensing ribbon NAUTILOID CORP 31 July 1970 37080/70 Heading B8C Articles are held on a carrier ribbon 110 which is wound into a coil 116 and has its adjacent upper and lower surfaces sealed together so that each article is enclosed in a separate chamber. As shown, adhesive bandages 12b are transferred by a finger 122 to the lower surface 108 of the carrier ribbon 110, an adhesive rectangle 124 is applied around each bandage 12b by a print roller 128, and the ribbon is knurled by roller 140 and wound into a coil 116 on a reel 118. Dispensing means for the ribbon comprise a housing for the coil 116 having an opening through which the end of the ribbon is drawn to expose one bandage 12b. The free end of the ribbon may be pulled from the dispenser by hand or may re-enter the housing to be wound on a shaft which may be operated mechanically or by means of an electric motor. The bandages may have a non-adhesive strip or tab at one or both ends to facilitate their removal from the ribbon.
