Abstract

1322924 Taking up slack in flexible elements SHINKO DENKI KK 29 Sept 1970 [4 Oct 1969 22 Jan 1970 (3)] 46375/70 Heading B8B [Also in Divisions E2 F2 and H2] A support for suspending a pipe or cable 11 from a rail or rope 12, e.g. for a crane, comprises an upper bracket 1 having a rotatably mounted carrier roller 2 running on the rail or rope, a lower bracket 3 coupled to the upper bracket, a supporting member 8 suspended from the lower bracket by a rod 7, and a clamping member 9 secured to the supporting member for clamping the pipes or cable. The lower bracket 3 has a rotatably mounted guide roller 5, and the brackets 1, 3 are hinged together at one side P and have an interlocking detent and ratchet tooth 1a, 3a at the other side. Alternatively, the brackets 1, 3 have interlocking detents and ratchet teeth on both sides. The supporting and clamping members 8, 9, can swivel about a vertical axis and are secured by ratchet teeth 9 above and below the pipe or cable 11 entering apertures with angled walls, (Fig. 4a, not shown), or one interlocking ratchet tooth and aperture above the pipe or cable and a hinge therebelow. The hinge is a detachable hinge, as shown, with varying pivots 9x for differing diameters of pipes or cables 11, or a permanent hinge. The pipe or cable 11 is protected in the supporting and clamping assembly 8, 9 by a rubber grommet 10. The support parts are of metal or synthetic resin.
