Abstract
132,252. Schleising, E. Nov. 24, 1917, [Convention date]. Bedsteads convertible into seats, couches, &c.- A seat, sofa, &c. which can be converted into a bed comprises two surfaces, normally one above the other, and so arranged that when the upper surface is moved in an approximately horizontal direction, the lower surface is raised vertically. In the arrangement shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the part II is raised by the levers b, d, as the part I is moved horizontally. A third part III may be provided, which may be completely removed to form a single bed, or may be connected by levers l so that it can be moved into the position shown in Fig. 4. According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) the levers d may be curved and provided with rollers, or, instead of using levers b, d, the motion of the part II may be effected by the use of cords, or by toggle or shea.r levers. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
