Abstract
1322333 Reflecting objectives SIR HOWARD GRUBB PARSONS & CO Ltd 3 July 1970 [11 July 1969] 35116/69 Heading G2J A catadioptric optical system comprises a concave aspheric mirror M, one radiationtransmitting correcting component P 1 disposed in the path of radiation prior to its incidence on the mirror, and a further radiation-transmitting correcting component P 2 in the path of radiation reflected by the mirror, between the mirror and the focal surface 6 of the system, the further correcting component being an astigmatismcorrecting component which is either a corrector plate with an aspheric surface (as shown) or a meriscus lens of negative power, Fig.3 (not shown). Correcting component P 1 may have at least one aspheric surface (as shown), or it may be a meriscus lens, Fig.2 (not shown), and it is preferably formed with an aperture A. Optical data are given for three examples.
