Abstract

1321940 Rotary-head tape recorders AMPEX CORP 30 Dec 1971 [4 Jan 1971] 60783/71 Heading G5R [Also in Division H1] A rotary transformer comprises two magnetic core members, 11 and 12, each made of a ferrite material, two sets of radially spaced coaxial windings and a closed loop shielding conductor between each pair of windings on each disc. Extra channels may be provided, each one having an associated screening conductor. The transformer can be used in conjunction with at least two magnetic transducers, which may be fixed to the rotor, to provide a rotary scanning head for use in magnetic tape recorders.
