Abstract

1321635 Mechanical garages MIYACHI IRON WORKS Ltd 4 Sept 1970 [8 Sept 1969] 42599/70 Heading B8E [Also in Division E2] A multi-storey garage 1 comprises storage chambers g 1 to c 2 as shown in Fig. 1, a similar number (a 1 <SP>1</SP> to c 2 <SP>1</SP>) being immediately behind. A lift cage 2 serves the chambers and extends the whole depth of the garage. Each chamber has a cart 4 to receive a car C. As shown cart 4 from a 1 is in the lift cage 2 at the entrance to the garage, spring members, Fig. 5 (not shown, see Division E2), clamping the car C to the cart 4. Fig. 3 shows the cart 4 on a table 12 arranged on the lift platform 21 and movable therealong between two extreme positions in order to serve the front or the rear set of chambers. Each cart 4 is mounted on wheels 14 received in guide rails 31 on the table 12 and is clamped to the table 12 by a spring device 11. Fig. 10 illustrates the transfer of a cage 4 into and out of a chamber. The rails 31 are aligned with rails 47 in the chamber and an endless chain device 80 is actuated to bring an arm 87 on chain 86 into contact with rods 19 mounted on the cart 4 to push the cart 4 into, or pull it out of, the chamber. A spring clamp 11A holds the cart 4 in the chamber.
