1320966 Photo-electric concentration determination A R LINDBERG 30 Oct 1970 [3 Nov 1969] 51742/70 Heading G1A In an arrangement, light absorption by a sample is measured alternately in two different ranges of wavelength one being narrow and falling within the other, and light energy within the ranges in the absence of a sample is trimmed by absorption filters to be equal so that background absorption due for example to turbidity is compensated when the difference between the energies in the two ranges is used to indicate the concentrations. A two sector filter 8, Fig. 1, is rotated in the light path between the sample 3 and a light operated switch 10, 11 actuates relay contacts R L1, R L2 to apply the alternate photo-cell potentials to capacitors C1 and C2. The difference signal is indicated or recorded at 14, 15 after amplification in 16 and may be linearized to read concentration directly. Resistors R1, R2 provide for adjustment of range and zero.
