1320627 Coated vulcanised rubber articles STAVROS ACHILLES KYRIAKIDES 21 May 1971 [21 May 1970] 16369/71 Heading B2E [Also in Division C3] Vulcanized rubber articles are coated with a composition comprising an N-substituted pphenylene diamine as antiozonant, an organic wetting agent, an organic penetrant comprising one or more compounds selected from terpenes, esters, glycol ethers, ketones and alcohols and one or more solvents to provide a controlled drying rate required for absorption of the antiozonant beneath the surface of the rubber. Examples are given in which samples of a vulcanized smoked sheet rubber compound, including the sidewall of a tyre, are treated with two coats of a composition containing N, N'- dioctyl-p-phenylene diamine, an alkyl aryl sulphonate, pinene, isopropyl acetate, hexane and toluene.
