Abstract

1319761 Dispensing tablets M T WHEEN 15 June 1970 [15 March 1969 13 March 1970] 13751/69 and 12346/70 Headings B8P and B8S A container for tablets, pellets, or cubes comprises a reservoir 304 in which the tablets are disposed in a random 3-dimensional array, and a funnel leading to a discharge aperture 309 and having an entrance 314a restricting the tablets to a 2-dimensional order and a channel 317 restricting the tablets to a linear order. In the embodiment shown upper wall 331 is reduced in height along line 328 forming the entrance 314a, and the channel 317 has projections 330 retarding backward flow of the tablets. An ejector 311 pushes one or more of the tablets out through the aperture 309 at a time. The channel 317 and end wall 327 may be inclined at 60 degrees to side wall 312. In another embodiment the funnel is formed between a bottom wall and an interior flange with ribs on the inside surface of the bottom wall forming the sides of the discharge channel. A tablet is ejected by a projection on the flange when the bottom wall is slid along the container. In a further embodiment the container comprises a top wall having a portion of reduced height to form the funnel and a fixed ejector, and a movable bottom wall having a rib to form a straight discharge channel.
