1319403 Pesticidal phosphorus-containing thiadiazole derivatives MERCK & CO Inc 19 July 1971 [22 July 1970] 33822/71 Heading C2P The invention comprises compounds of the Formula I where X is oxygen or sulphur, R 1 is C 1-5 alkoxy, C 2-5 alkenoxy, C 1-5 alkylthio, di(C 1-5 alkyl) amino, C 1-5 alkylamino or an N-attached mononuclear 5 or 6-membered heterocyclic radical containing 1, 2 or 3 hetero atoms, which are nitrogen, oxygen or sulphur, at least one hetero atom being nitrogen, R 2 is C 1-5 alkyl and R 3 is C 1-5 alkyl or alkoxy, phenyl, halophenyl, (C 1-5 alkoxy)phenyl or nitrophenyl, and the acid addition salts of compounds in which R 1 is amino or heterocyclic. The compounds of formula I may be prepared by reacting a suitable 4- substituted-3-hydroxy-thiadiazole with a compound of Formula II where Hal is halogen, preferably in the presence of a base. The compounds of Formula I have pesticidal, especially anthelmintic properties, and may be used as the active ingredients in conventional pesticidal compositions, which may additionally contain polyvinyl chloride.
