Abstract
1318894 Hydraulic reciprocating motors EISENWERK WESERHœTTE A G 5 Oct 1970 48683/70 Heading F1A A rotary distributor valve for a hydraulic machine, e.g. a reciprocating motor, comprises a valve member 17, Fig.1 rotatable with the machine drive shaft 16, and having inlet and outlet kidney ports 19, 19a registering sequentially with cylinder ports 3, 3a and communicating with an inlet 1 and an outlet 5, the flow through which may be reversed, a pressure zone being provided by a surface in passage 18 with its centre at substantially the same radial location relative to the axis of rotation as the centre of a recess 2, such that fluid pressure in the passage generates balanced forces on the pressure zone and recess to substantially hydrostatically balance the valve member relative to the housing 24. The arrangement may provide a small force biasing the valve member towards surface 23. In Fig.2b, the valve member comprises portions 7 and 8 biased apart by springs 11 and by fluid pressure. In Figs. Figs.3a and 3b (not shown), spring-loaded and hydrostatically-balanced pins key the valve member portions together to prevent relative rotation. In Fig.4b (not shown), the inlet and outlet connections both extend axially of the housing.
