Abstract

1318293 Injection-moulding P R DE RYCK 20 Aug 1970 [20 Aug 1969] 40261/70 Heading B5A Injection-moulding apparatus comprises an intermittently movable injection head, at least two moulds having inlets, means to actuate injection when the head comes opposite a mould inlet, a bar having openings one end of which connects with the mould inlets and the other end opening on to a side face of the bar, a connector movable with the injection head and pressed against the side face of the bar and having an aperture on one side connecting with the orifice of the injection head and at the other side with the said other end of the opening of the bar. As shown in Fig. 2, the apparatus comprises a mould 1 e.g. for a shoe sole, and an injection head 17. Bar 5 is fixed to frame 2 and has a hole 6 therethrough communicating with the mould cavity via pipes 7, 8 which interfit and bore 4. A ring 10 is secured on to pipe 7 and clamps plate 13 against mould 1 via ring 14. Connector 29 is mounted on head 17 and has a hole 30 communicating with both the injection orifice and hole 6. Injection cylinder 16 runs on chains (22, Fig. 2, not shown) and is mounted on wheels (18, 20) on rail (19) and in slot (21) respectively, for movement between each mould in turn and is spring-urged against bar 5. Bar 5 and head 17 are preferably heated. An electronic device (26) controls movement of head 17 and also screw 27 in response to the head movements.
